Family Events

The Myers-Wilkins Community School Collaborative organizes monthly  Family Events each year which bring families, friends, and neighbors together for cultural enrichment, learning, and celebration of the children’s accomplishments.

Many of these events also feature a nutritious, ethnic-themed meal.

Upcoming Family/Community Events

STEM Family Night -  Tuesday, April 11th, 2017 from 5-7p.m.

The College of St. Scholastica will be hosting a fun STEM family night with Hands-on science and math activities for students, families and the community.   Dinner will be served at 5p.m. with activities from 5:30-7p.m.

Myers-Wilkins Food, Clothing and Book Drive Family Night – Friday, April 21st from 5-7p.m., 2017

Students are hoping to collect clothing, food and books to donate to their community. This Clothing, Food and Book Drive will end with an explosion of fun at a family night event.   Dinner at 5p.m. followed by family fun activities.

We will be accepting:

  • Secondhand and wearable clothing (Men’s, Women’s, Children’s)
  • Non-perishable food items
  • Used books at drop points in the community

Spring Enda Semesta Fiesta, Thursday, May 4th, 2017, 5:00-7:00 p.m.
A semi annual celebration and showcase of student’s learning and accomplishments in the after-school academic and cultural enrichment programs. Features a meal, exhibits and performances by Myers-Wilkins students.

Tellabration, Thursday, November 17th, 2015, 5:30-7:00 p.m.
5:30p.m  A light Dinner will be served in the cafeteria

6:00  Storytellers and musicians entertain and delight families and neighbors with tales of valor, cunning, and wisdom.

“Steps to the Future” Powwow, Wednesday, January 25th, 2015, 4:30-7:30 p.m.
Annual celebration of educators, students, and lifelong learning. Features a Career and Higher Education Fair with over 30 presenters, a feast, and powwow. Singers, dancers, and families came from our local community as well as Northern Minnesota and Michigan.

Cabin Fever Reliever, Thursday, March 23rd  2016, 5:00-7:00 p.m.
A late winter evening of health and wellness activities for Myers-Wilkins families and the community. Features a healthy meal, fitness, dance, and health-related fun for the whole family!
