Family Events

Myers-Wilkins Community School organizes monthly  Family Events each year which bring families, friends, and neighbors together for cultural enrichment, learning, and celebration of the children’s accomplishments.

Many of these events also feature a nutritious, ethnic-themed meal.

Upcoming Family/Community Events

“Steps to the Future” Powwow, Wednesday, January 25th, 2015, 4:30-7:30 p.m.
Annual celebration of educators, students, and lifelong learning. Features a Career and Higher Education Fair with over 30 presenters, a feast, and powwow. Singers, dancers, and families came from our local community as well as Northern Minnesota and Michigan.

Steps to the Future Powwow, a celebration of lifelong learning.

Books for Bingo, Wednesday, February 22nd 5p.m.                                                                             Join us for a fun evening of Bingo and win books to take home and read!

Cabin Fever Reliever, Thursday, March 22nd  5:00-7:00 p.m.
A late winter evening of health and wellness activities for Myers-Wilkins families and the community. Features a healthy meal, fitness, dance, and health-related fun for the whole family!

STEM Family Night –  Wednesday, April 18th- 5pm.

The College of St. Scholastica will be hosting a fun STEM family night with Hands-on science and math activities for students, families and the community.

Spring Enda Semesta Fiesta, Thursday, April 26th  5:00-7:00 p.m.
A semi annual celebration and showcase of student’s learning and accomplishments in the after-school academic and cultural enrichment programs. Features a meal, exhibits and performances by Myers-Wilkins students.

Bike Rodeo – Thursday, May 24th 4-6p.m.                                                                                               Enjoy a fun afternoon learning about bike safety as you go through a fun course.  Get your bike tuned up, try the smoothie bike, and participate in fun activities.  Bike helmets and bikes available on  a limited basis

Tellabration, Thursday, November 17th, 2015, 5:30-7:00 p.m.
5:30p.m  A light Dinner will be served in the cafeteria

Hillside Youth Theater Performances

Students in the Hillside Youth Theatre program at Myers-Wilkins Elementary School are excited to perform an original musical play production, All You Need is Bugs. The public is invited to attend.

Matinee Performances: July 27th and 28th at 1:00p.m.  Free

Evening Performances:                                                                                                                               July 27th (special fundraising event beginning at 6:00p.m. with appetizers, music, and silent auction. $15 donation; play performance at 7:00p.m.)

July 24th at 7:00p.m. FreeSpecial reception for families following the performance

Performances will be held in the Lincoln Park Auditorium  (3215 W. 3rd street)

Admission is FREE (with the exception of the July 27th evening fundraiser)
